Marketing yourself as a life coach is also in your control—you can create the method that works best for you. When I started out, I remember talking to established life coaches about ways they promoted their business using their strengths. Some of the coaches who loved writing promoted their business by writing articles in magazines and newspapers. Some did training seminars and got out into the public eye that way. Some were natural speakers and so they did the speaking circuit. And some of the coaches I met were active on the internet and marketing themselves through websites even fourteen years ago.

I blended my unique strengths into my own marketing plan. Networking is easy for me, and I like being in groups. I like to be in nature, so I loved being a coach at Womensquest outdoor adventure company where I got to go biking, hiking, swimming with the dolphins, and share my passion for coaching through lectures. I also decided to work with people in career transitions who were creating a lifestyle of their dreams becoming entrepreneurs and was a coach with Vocation Vacations for a while.

Because marketing your self and building your coaching business is so important, ACN is unique in its focus on that essential aspect of coaching.

When I wanted to grow my business internationally, I continued to learn the latest technology in the field and bring it to my coach training program, and my lifestyle really supported that. I was a Results Coach for the Tony Robbins company and coached executives and CEOs’ both nationally and internationally. One of my benefits as a coach with Tony Robbins was to attend all of his trainings, which created tremendous growth and learning for me both personally and professionally.

How to Start Your Action Plan

It’s up to you—you can create the life you want. And on that note, I’d like to end with one of my favorite quotes from Marianne Williamson:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
